I created four different mixes for Jack , each one increasing in quality
they can be found in the post above this one .
The first three I did were okay but I wanted it to be exactly what he wanted
and a genuinely good mix ...
so I had a few different runs through it and spent some time gathering perfect songs for the mix.
Once I was happy that I had chosen all the right songs , I chose the best order for them to go in
according to how they go together and the BPM to make synchronising the songs easier.
Here our some printscreens of the mixing software that I used.
Virtual DJ
Ideally I would have used proffesional DJ software e.g. Native Instruments Traktor 2
But my mixer is not compatiable with Traktor 2
Virtual DJ is a program that allows you to connect a USB 2 Channel Audio mixer.
It has a crossfader for switching beetween the two channels and a main volume which controls both.
It also has equalisers for each channel - Treble , Medium , Bass
Various different effects such as reverb and phaser
It also allows you to pitch shift the songs
Once I had finished creating the mix for Jack and we were
both happy with the finished product I exported it as a WAV file.
I loaded the file into cubase because I wanted to cut it down to 2 minutes and 30 seconds
Like I had earlier planned to so that jack has more than he needs just incase.
Here is the folder that I created with all of the different drafts
and edits of Jacks soundtrack.
Once I was happy with the Cubase edit I exported it as a WAV file.
After putting the mix onto Jacks advert we are both happy with the Advert and how it looks and sounds.
I feel that I have met the brief that Jack created for me and done it to a high standard.
